what was the first thing you thought of when you woke up this morning? The first thing you saw? Did you think about a fun thing you planned to do? breakfast? Did you look up and see your favorite poster or game?

did you know there are people waking up everyday wondering where their next meal will come from? Wondering where they are , until they remember that they are in a shelter, because they are homeless.  most people are only a paycheck or two away from being there.

On any given night in America, anywhere from 700,000 to 2 million people are homeless, according to estimates of the National Law Center on Homelessness and Poverty. there are  growing number of them that have jobs and go to work everyday. So it’s our turn to give back on Thursday. Take a day off your vacation nd head on up to the food pantry. Wear your SFX shirts and bring your smile. These people aren’t there becaue they want to be, but because they don’t have  choice. Be the light of God for them . Who knows you may be the only smile they see that day.

For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’ They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’ He will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least among you, you did not do for me.’” Matthew 25:41-45
